At the same time as the Magistral Ciutat de Barcelona, the Individual Catalonian Championship will be organized, on the same dates, from 18th to 26th August. Due to pandemics, this tournament changes its format and this year will a ten players Round Robin.

In this new edition, the Magistral Ciutat de Barcelona will have a playing hall. This will be the Civic Center of Cotxeres de Sants, a place well known in the chess world for hosting the Sants Open for many years.
